Hello to you...yes YOU!

I've just got back from the annual Stampin' Up! convention in Melbourne where I spent 3 amazing days with 500 other crafting nuts like myself! Such fun!!! They really know how to put on a show there at SU and it's left us feeling totally inspired and filled with great ideas to share with... well anyone who will stand still for a few minutes!!

A wedding card for Wills & Kate

With Easter over I'm looking forward to the Royal Wedding of Wills & Kate. For weeks I've been getting excited about it, reading magazine speculation on the dress and guest list. Guess you can take the girl out of England but... well, you know the rest!!

30 years ago *gasp* my family and myself were in the crowd ouside St. Paul's Cathedral when Prince Charles married Lady Diana and it remains one of my favourite childhood memories. I'll never forget Diana's dress or the jubilation in the crowd as they passed in their carriage as husband and wife.

So this Friday my Mum, my daughter (who is the same age as I was at Charles & Diana's wedding) and myself will be glued to the TV wearing our best hats (!) drinking something with bubbles and enjoying the great sense of occasion that, for us, is something worth celebrating.

And here's the card I made. Hope you like it.

Ooo! I do love this set from the new mini catalogue.It's called "Love & Caring" and retails for $31.95 for the clear mount and $39.95 for the wood mount set.
I've used my ink pads and aqua brush to 'watercolour' the image. It's one of my favourite techniques at the moment.

As we say goodbye to Sale-A-Bration for 2011 it's time to say a BIG hello to the very gorgeous Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue which is jam packed full of everything lovely to help you create stunning cards and scrapbook pages.

Love Is In The Air

With Valentine's Day tomorrow it seems fitting to let you in on some big news in our family. Our gorgeous cousin Jacqueline has just become engaged to her sweetheart Jim. We're so happy for them both. Of course this special occasion gave me a great excuse to make a card! Here it is...

I used one of the Sale-A-Bration sets on offer at the moment with pear pizazz and blushing bride cardstock. The patterned paper is the Presto Patterns DSP (designer series paper) from the mini catalogue. It comes in white but I've given it a "wash" with pear pizazz ink and a watercolour brush then stamped the hearts on top.
